GearDex
GearDex
Know what camera gear you own, where it is, and what it"s worth
Overview
GearDex is a gear inventory and shoot planner for photographers and video shooters. I built it because my own kit lived in a spreadsheet that never matched what was actually in the bag.
Each item gets serial number, mount, condition, purchase receipt and current value. From that list you can export an insurance PDF, build kits, and plan shoots with call sheets, weather, sun times and a packing list pulled from gear you really own. Iris, the built-in assistant, answers questions about your kit (which lenses fit this body, what’s missing for Saturday) and drafts shot lists. It never changes anything without asking.
The business side sits in the same app: a site builder and client galleries on every plan, a client CRM on Pro, booking and invoices on Studio.
Starter is free with 25 items, 10 categories, 3 shoot plans and 25 AI actions a week. Pro is $4/mo or $39/yr, Studio $19/mo or $179/yr. Everything exports to ZIP, JSON or CSV.
Runs in the browser, on Mac (1.3.0, Apple Silicon and Intel) and on Windows (1.3.1). No native phone app yet; the web app installs to the home screen.
